Time Drifts On

It's been a long time since I posted here. Moving on to graduate studies at a new school, moving to a new apartment, learning my way around a new city, etc. all kept me away from blogging for a while. Then when I came back to this website I couldn't for the life of me remember what e-mail address I had used to create this blog, or what my password was! So years went by, I took to scratching out my thoughts in random word documents instead of posting them online, and time drifts on... until today, when I am looking up an old post I made for some inspiration for the project I'm working on, and decide 'what the heck, might as well take another stab at that login page!' and BAM, it worked! Apologies to anyone who worried about me because my last post was somewhat dreary - it was a rather stressful time in my life, and I didn't mean to just dissapear. I'm not sure if I'll continue coming here to post, but now that I have my account back who knows; it might be fun!

Hilarious Commercial

Wendy's has been pushing it's fresh burgers, "never frozen". Their latest commercial is fucking hilarious to me, but unfortunately almost everyone I talk to about it or see it with says they don't get it - and it's one of those things where if you don't get it the first time, when you finally understand it you won't appreciate it. Basically there's a bunch of people out in the woods kicking trees, and one of them is wearing a Wendy wig (red hair and curled up ponytails). Well the one wearing the wig stops and gets this look on his face like wait a second and says something like "Why am eating a burger made from frozen beef? I deserve a hot, juicy burger... ... and so do you! and so do you!" and the people stop kicking trees and look up, and he starts chanting "hot, juicy burger... hot, juicy burger" and all the people join in chanting "hot, juicy burger". The joke is that eating patties from the freezer when you could have a hot, juicy burger is as pointless and stupid as standing in the woods kicking a tree. Yeah, fucking hilarious. If you want to knock over a tree you should use an axe; if you want to eat a burger you should eat a hot and juicy one.

Commercial Deja Vu

Can someone please explain to me why my cable company routinely shows one commercial and then immediately repeats the exact same commercial? I mean I realize it probably has a lot to do with the networks too and well frankly - I don't know the whole commercial selection process but this seems like a waste of advertising dollars to me. It drives me nuts, and makes me instantly despise whatever product it's pushing.
